JOB OVERVIEW
Bayer is seeking a Digital Medical Scientific Liaison (DMSL) to serve as a scientific bridge between the organization and the external medical community. The role focuses on engaging with thought leaders (TLs), healthcare professionals (HCPs), and key decision-makers through digital-first, multichannel scientific communication.

This position emphasizes virtual engagement, scientific exchange, and insight generation to support medical and commercial strategy, particularly in underserved geographies and emerging HCP segments.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Scientific Engagement & Medical Communication

  • Act as a scientific expert and trusted liaison between Bayer and healthcare professionals

  • Deliver scientific information through digital channels, virtual meetings, and remote engagements

  • Establish and maintain relationships with thought leaders (TLs), rising star HCPs, and academic experts

  • Ensure accurate, compliant communication of scientific and medical data in alignment with regulations

Digital & Multichannel HCP Engagement

  • Drive remote-first engagement strategies using digital platforms and innovative communication tools

  • Increase medical reach in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities and underserved healthcare segments

  • Customize scientific content delivery based on HCP needs and engagement preferences

  • Support virtual scientific events, advisory boards, symposia, and CME activities

Medical Insights & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Gather actionable medical insights from external stakeholders and communicate them to internal teams

  • Collaborate with MSLs, Key Account Managers (KAMs), Sales, Medical Affairs, Clinical Operations, and Business Units

  • Translate scientific insights into content strategy and engagement planning

  • Contribute to decision-making through structured feedback from field interactions

Clinical & Medical Operations Support

  • Support clinical trial teams with feasibility assessments and site initiation activities

  • Assist in data collection activities related to interventional clinical trials

  • Ensure accurate documentation and processing of medical information queries

  • Maintain compliance with medical information handling procedures

Reporting & Performance Tracking

  • Maintain accurate records of HCP interactions, engagements, and scientific discussions

  • Prepare regular activity reports aligned with performance objectives

  • Track engagement outcomes and contribution to medical strategy goals


EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Fresher or 2–3 years of experience in pharmaceutical, clinical, or medical affairs roles

  • Prior experience as an MSL (Medical Science Liaison), clinical research associate, or drug information specialist preferred

  • Experience in cardiovascular, chronic kidney disease, or diabetes therapeutic areas is an advantage


EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, Natural Sciences, or related life science field is required

  • Advanced degrees such as MD, PharmD, MDS, or PhD are preferred


KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

Scientific & Clinical Skills

  • Strong understanding of clinical research and medical science principles

  • Ability to interpret and communicate scientific data effectively

  • Familiarity with therapeutic areas such as cardiology and metabolic diseases is preferred

Digital & Analytical Skills

  • Digital-first mindset with experience or interest in virtual engagement platforms

  • Ability to generate insights from data and HCP interactions

  • Exposure to digital content creation is an advantage

Professional Skills

  • Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a matrix environment

  • Strong collaboration and cross-functional teamwork skills
