Job Summary:

Abbott is hiring a Development Quality Technician 2 for its Sylmar, CA location in the Cardiac Rhythm Technologies division. This on-site role supports quality engineering by assisting in developing and maintaining methodologies, providing technical quality support for new product development, manufacturing, and system services. Ideal for candidates with a strong background in FDA-regulated environments, this opportunity enables you to contribute to innovative cardiac care solutions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform inspections of production operations and document results.

  • Conduct final product inspections based on specifications.

  • Report and help resolve nonconformances in manufacturing processes.

  • Monitor and maintain calibration of test equipment and fixtures.

  • Assist with Gage R&R studies and statistical data analysis.

  • Support design, installation, and evaluation of precision measuring equipment.

  • Prepare and maintain control plans for product processes.

  • Execute and document equipment, process, and test method validations.

  • Ensure compliance with FDA, ISO 13485, and other regulatory standards.

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure quality objectives are met.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED (Technical Diploma preferred).

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience.

  • Familiarity with validations, Gage R&R, calibration, and NCMR processes.

  • Knowledge of FDA regulations, ISO 13485, and global regulatory standards.

  • Experience with optical measurement, force gage testing, fixture design.

  • Training in blueprint reading and sampling techniques.

  • Strong communication, computer, and data analysis skills.

  • ASQ CQT certification preferred.

  • Prior medical device industry experience preferred.

  • Ability to manage tasks in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
