Job Summary

Optum is hiring a Deputy Manager – Medical Coding in Noida to lead a team of 75–90 certified coders. This role focuses on performance management, quality assurance, project oversight, and team development in line with global healthcare standards. Candidates with expertise in coding compliance, AAPC/AHIMA certifications, and strong leadership skills are encouraged to apply.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of 75–90 certified medical coders.

  • Ensure productivity, quality, and TAT targets are met.

  • Oversee recruitment, training, and team development initiatives.

  • Implement and monitor performance management systems.

  • Resolve coding quality and customer service issues.

  • Analyze trends and recommend process improvements.

  • Maintain compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.

  • Support cross-functional collaboration and performance reviews.

  • Enforce best practices in coding and quality metrics.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Graduate in any discipline (Life Sciences preferred).

  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) with 2+ years of coding experience (preferred).

  • Strong background in performance management, project management, and quality control.

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Strong problem-solving, coaching, and team-building skills.

  • Ability to manage budgets, handle pressure, and foster teamwork.

  • Excellent communication and leadership capabilities.
