Data Team Lead – Clinical Data Management

Job Overview

IQVIA is seeking a skilled Data Team Lead to manage the end-to-end delivery of clinical data management services across single and multi-service projects. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality, timely, and compliant data management outputs aligned with customer expectations, Good Clinical Practices (GCP), regulatory standards, and internal procedures.

The ideal candidate will provide strong leadership in project planning, execution, quality oversight, team coordination, and customer communication. This position requires proven expertise in Clinical Data Management (CDM) and the ability to lead cross-functional teams in a hybrid work environment.


Key Responsibilities

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all data management deliverables.

  • Collaborate with client data managers, decision-makers, and internal teams to ensure smooth execution and issue resolution.

  • Maintain strong client relationships and ensure transparent communication throughout project lifecycle.

  • Support contract negotiations related to timelines, financials, processes, and resourcing.

Data Management Leadership

  • Oversee data management activities to meet project milestones and quality standards.

  • Conduct regular reviews with Data Operations Coordinators and project teams.

  • Provide data management expertise and act as escalation point for unresolved data issues.

  • Review and approve Data Management Plans (DMPs) and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.

  • Implement quality management strategies and drive continuous process improvements.

  • Track service performance, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective measures.

Financial & Operational Management

  • Support budget oversight, service level tracking, and contract compliance.

  • Monitor monthly financial reports and highlight out-of-scope activities.

  • Contribute to proposal development, including RFP review, pricing inputs, and bid defense participation.

  • Support single-service DM project management, including revenue tracking and invoicing.

Process Improvement & Technology Enablement

  • Provide insights for improving CDM processes and operational efficiency.

  • Contribute to new technology or tool implementation within the CDM function.

  • Participate in global or local best practice groups and contribute to strategic initiatives.


Required Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences, Clinical Research, Biological Sciences, Mathematics, or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum 1–2 years of direct Clinical Data Management experience.

  • At least 6 months of experience as a CDM Project Lead (preferred).

  • Experience managing study delivery through the full data management lifecycle, ideally including at least one medium-scale Phase III study.

  • Strong knowledge of:

    • CDM processes (SAE reconciliation, external vendor management, lab data handling, etc.)

    • Medical terminology, pharmacology, anatomy, and physiology

    • GCP and regulatory requirements

    • SOPs and work instructions
