Job Description
The Clinical Research Physician (CRP) is expected to demonstrate strong leadership in clinical development and medical affairs through their experience and expertise in clinical practice and basic research. The CRP will contribute significantly as a medical expert throughout the drug development process, from early development to approval, market launch, and post-marketing activities, and will support various teams in achieving success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support clinical development activities for new drugs in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Support clinical trial implementation, lead the creation of regulatory submission documents, and support drug regulatory affairs activities.
  • Build relationships and facilitate scientific discussions with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with global teams (including teams based in the US) to ensure efficient communication and development processes.
  • Lead medical preparation activities for market launch, including aligning the team's actions to prepare for commercialization.
  • Plan and execute medical advisory boards and other strategic initiatives to support product development.
  • Design and implement medical education programs for external customers, including educational lectures, materials creation, and scientific symposia.
  • Lead scientific evidence creation, including generating real-world evidence.
  • Lead presentations at medical conferences and collaborate with KOLs for scientific publication.
  • Provide medical support in strategic discussions regarding market activities and contribute to product value enhancement after market launch.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to align medical insights and support the creation of marketing strategies.
  • Provide responses to scientific inquiries and develop related content to support customer needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Medical license in Japan, with at least 5 years of clinical experience.
  • Specialization in Neuroscience, with a focus on neurodegenerative diseases (including dementia) or pain management (e.g., neuropathic pain) and at least 3 years of hands-on experience in these areas.
  • Experience in scientific publication writing.
  • Strong leadership skills to lead cross-functional teams with a focus on scientific expertise.
  • Excellent communication skills for both internal and external stakeholder engagement.
  • Fluency in both Japanese and English, with proficiency in business communication.
  • Strong presentation and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to engage in logical and critical thinking.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in clinical research or basic research related to gene therapy or nucleic acid drugs.
  • Previous experience in pharmaceutical development within the neuroscience or pain management therapeutic areas, including post-marketing clinical trials, publications, and external customer discussions.

Work Location

  • Kobe Headquarters or Tokyo Branch (negotiable).
  • Potential future opportunities in overseas offices and other company locations.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary: Competitive, based on company standards.
  • Allowances: Housing allowance, commuting expenses, and other benefits.
  • Performance-Based Bonuses: Based on individual and company performance, paid in March.
  • Working Hours: 8:45 AM to 5:30 PM, flexible work time between 5:00 AM and 10:00 PM.
  • Overtime: None (flexible hours available).
  • Remote Work: Available.
  • Vacation: 125 days annual leave, public holidays, year-end holidays, and summer vacations.
  • Insurance: Employment, health, worker’s compensation, and pension insurance.

  • Retirement: Age 60, with a continuation employment system until age 65.

Additional Notes

  • All employees are expected to be within a reasonable commuting distance (90 km or 90 minutes travel by public transportation).
  • If you reside outside this distance, relocation is expected, with support for relocation provided (including company housing).
  • Trial Period: 6 months, with no salary difference during the probation period.
