Position Overview: Clinical Oncology Specialist (COS)

The Opportunity

As a Clinical Oncology Specialist, you will be responsible for shaping the personalized oncology and pathology ecosystem for Foundation Medicine (FMI) in your assigned territory, which includes Mumbai and Pune. This role involves driving clinical adoption, building strategic relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), and advancing Roche's vision for diagnostic excellence.

You will report to the Manager, FMI, and collaborate closely with internal teams to achieve your goals.


Key Responsibilities

1. Business Development

  • Ecosystem Mapping: Shape the FMI and personalized oncology pathology landscape among clinicians.

  • Opportunity Identification: Evaluate market trends, gather competitive intelligence, and uncover opportunities for broader genomic profiling.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Establish relationships with oncologists, pathologists, molecular oncologists, geneticists, and surgeons to foster trust and adoption of FMI solutions.

  • Strategy Implementation: Develop and execute account-based sales and marketing strategies to meet clinical and business objectives for the assigned portfolio.

2. KOL Development

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) by engaging them through Molecular Tumor Boards, expert group meetings, and account-specific educational programs.

  • Organize and participate in medical conferences, CMEs, and other platforms to enhance clinical awareness and advocacy for FMI solutions.

3. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop customer-centric and disease-focused sales materials, including competition rebuttals and alliance value kits.

  • Ensure all activities align with Roche’s corporate, regulatory, and quality standards.

  • Foster trust and credibility with external stakeholders and internal teams to achieve shared goals.


Who You Are

Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Life Sciences/Pharmacy graduate with additional qualifications in Cancer Genomics (diploma/certification preferred).

    • MBA, MD/MBBS, MSc, or PhD is advantageous.

  • Experience:

    • 7–8 years of professional experience, including 2–3 years in genomics.

    • Prior experience working with clinicians, especially oncologists and geneticists, is preferred.

  • Ability to build strategic relationships with healthcare professionals and drive clinical adoption.

  • Effective collaboration and communication skills across cross-functional teams.
