Position Title: Clinical Lab Professional
Location: Ascension Seton Hays, Kyle, TX
Sign-On Bonus: $10,000 (External candidates only)

Work Schedule:

  • Shift 3: 4x10 hours, 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM with rotating weekends.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Determine specimen acceptability for testing per established criteria.
  • Perform routine and complex technical procedures following departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot lab instrumentation to ensure functionality.
  • Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving.
  • Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
  • Report accurate and timely test results to ensure quality patient care.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
  • Identify and replenish necessary testing bench supplies.
  • Assist with specimen processing as needed.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to appropriate safety protocols.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements.
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical laboratory testing experience required, or an MLS degree.
  • ASCP or AMT certification is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Proficiency with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus.
  • High attention to detail with strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to pass a standardized color vision screen.
  • Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts based on business needs.
