Clinical Fellow – Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS)

About the Role:

The Clinical Fellow at UC CAPS will be part of a one-year fellowship program (with a potential second-year extension) designed to integrate therapeutic skills, solidify professional identity, and provide mental health support to UC students. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, outreach, and consultation.

Key Responsibilities:

βœ”οΈ Provide individual & group therapy for students
βœ”οΈ Offer crisis intervention and psychological support
βœ”οΈ Conduct outreach & educational programming for the campus community
βœ”οΈ Consult with students, parents, faculty, and staff
βœ”οΈ Collaborate with a diverse, multidisciplinary CAPS team

Qualifications:

βœ… Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Clinical Psychology, or a related field
βœ… Strong therapeutic skills, self-awareness, and a commitment to cultural competence
βœ… Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

Preferred:
πŸ”Ή Graduate training from an APA-accredited doctoral program (Clinical/Counseling Psychology), CACREP-accredited Master’s in Clinical Counseling, or CSWE-accredited Master’s in Social Work
πŸ”Ή Clinical internship/field placement experience working with young adults/college students
πŸ”Ή Experience in crisis intervention, psycho-educational programming, and college counseling settings
