Position Summary:
As a Production Chemist, you will be responsible for ensuring smooth operation of the production plant in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions. You will work closely with the Shift In-charge to ensure adherence to safety, quality, and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update shift reports and logbooks as required.
  • Operate the plant according to SOPs, ensuring efficient and safe production processes.
  • Regularly monitor plant readings and record data accurately.
  • Manage the loading and unloading of materials from drums, tanks, and receivers in line with SOPs.
  • Report any abnormalities in the plant to the Shift In-charge.
  • Ensure the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain good housekeeping practices in the plant.
  • Coordinate the transfer and unloading of raw materials, as well as the dispatch of finished goods.
  • Perform process sample analysis as per the quality plan to control process parameters.
  • Collect process samples in accordance with the Shift In-charge's instructions while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Ensure smooth and planned transfer of raw materials as required.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement process for plant operations and safety.
  • Follow environmental, health, and safety protocols to ensure responsible care.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education:
    • Diploma in Chemical Engineering or B.Sc. in Chemistry
  • Experience:
    • 3-5 years of experience in a continuous chemical process or batch process plant.

Key Competencies:

  • Strong operating knowledge of continuous chemical or batch processes.
  • Proficiency in operating reactors, filters, centrifuges in the batch process.
  • Adherence to safety and quality norms.
  • Knowledge of DCS (Distributed Control Systems) / PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) based plant operations.
  • Familiarity with distillation operations.
  • Handling of toxic/hazardous materials safely.
