Job Summary

IQVIA is hiring an experienced Cardiometabolic Medical Science and Outcomes Lead (Player-Coach) to join its expanding medical field team. This field-based role covers strategic scientific engagement with key opinion leaders (KOLs), payors, and healthcare stakeholders across cardiovascular, diabetes, and endocrinology domains. The role combines Medical Science Liaison (MSL) responsibilities with leadership, mentoring, and administrative oversight of field-based team members.

You will serve as a scientific expert in cardiometabolic health, presenting health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) data, and aligning education with strategic objectives across accounts including IDNs and ACOs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain scientific relationships with national and regional KOLs, P&T Committee members, payors, and academic experts in CV/metabolics

  • Deliver compliant, high-quality clinical communication to stakeholders and decision-makers

  • Represent IQVIA and client assets during advisory boards, booth activities, and payer engagements

  • Support internal clinical trial teams and medical affairs activities

  • Mentor and coach MSLs; oversee performance and skills development

  • Capture actionable insights via CRM and contribute to business intelligence

  • Present emerging data and address scientific inquiries from HCPs and payors

  • Travel 40–60% across the assigned region


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Advanced scientific or medical degree: MD, PhD, PharmD, or DNP

  • Minimum 5 years of field medical experience in the pharma or biotech sector

  • At least 2 years’ experience in diabetes, endocrinology, or cardiovascular therapeutics

  • Prior experience communicating health outcomes data to payors, IDNs, or C-suite leaders

  • Strong knowledge of medical affairs best practices, compliance (PhRMA, OIG), and the drug development lifecycle

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to synthesize complex data

  • Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities

  • Ability to work independently and manage remote teams

  • Administrative skills (expense approvals, team oversight) preferred
