BPO Medical Records Coding Senior Representative

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled BPO Medical Records Coding Senior Representative to support accurate, compliant, and standardized medical documentation processes. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that healthcare data is translated into universal medical codes, enabling consistency across clinical, operational, and billing systems.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced medical coders who are proficient in reviewing patient records, understanding clinical terminology, and applying standardized coding guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
Review and analyze clinical documentation to interpret and validate patient diagnoses.
Convert healthcare diagnoses, procedures, treatments, and medical services into standardized alphanumeric medical codes.
Ensure accuracy and uniformity in documentation across medical facilities by applying industry-standard coding systems.
Maintain a consistent and unified vocabulary for recording causes of injury, illness, and mortality.
Evaluate clinical statements and assign the appropriate standard codes for billing, reporting, and data management.
Support compliance with established medical coding regulations and internal quality standards.
Experience Required
Minimum 2–4 years of hands-on experience in medical coding within a BPO, healthcare, or clinical documentation setting.
Strong understanding of ICD, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
Ability to interpret medical terminology, clinical notes, and diagnostic reports.
Experience in quality review or senior-level coding responsibilities is preferred.
Skills and Competencies
Strong analytical and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently with high accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent understanding of coding guidelines, compliance requirements, and audit standards.
Strong communication and time-management skills.
Educational Requirements
Graduate degree in Life Sciences, Healthcare, Nursing, or related fields.
Certification such as CPC, CCS, CCA, or equivalent will be an added advantage.
