Role Overview

Indegene is seeking an experienced sales professional to join as the AVP – Business Development. This role involves driving business growth within assigned accounts by promoting and selling Indegene’s life sciences business solutions, including clinical, regulatory, safety, medical, commercial, marketing, market access, and consulting services. The ideal candidate will possess an entrepreneurial mindset, capable of identifying key decision-makers, generating interest in our solutions, and building strong pipelines to grow our existing engagements while exploring new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve top-line bookings and revenue goals across all service lines in assigned accounts.
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans for assigned accounts.
  • Maximize sales coverage by engaging stakeholders at all seniority levels within target accounts.
  • Map key stakeholders and create sales and marketing outreach plans to position Indegene’s solutions effectively and generate leads.
  • Present, promote, and sell services and solutions to new and existing customers.
  • Ensure Indegene’s inclusion in RFIs and RFPs related to our service lines within the assigned accounts.
  • Convert openings into business by preparing proposals and leading pitches with business unit leadership and operations teams.
  • Collaborate with operations and functional managers to lead and deliver impactful sales presentations.
  • Understand client needs and align them with Indegene’s capabilities.
  • Govern the delivery of engagements, collaborating with operations teams to improve NPS scores consistently.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • 12+ years of experience in sales and business development within the life sciences industry, with a focus on large pharma organizations.
  • Proven track record of meeting sales targets, particularly related to new business acquisition.
  • Strong experience in developing and executing sales and account plans, including stakeholder engagement strategies.
  • Established relationships with business decision-makers in the pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors.
  • Deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, including sales and marketing, digital transformation, regulatory environment, HCP priorities, and data analytics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong networking skills and a passion for staying updated on market trends to identify new business opportunities.
  • Structured thinking, solid business acumen, and exposure to emerging technology trends impacting product commercialization in life sciences.
