The Associate Project Manager, Scientific Communications, plays a vital role in supporting publication planning, scientific content development, and congress deliverables. This global role collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant execution of Scientific Communications initiatives aligned with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.

Role Description

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Scientific Communications (India), the Associate Project Manager will support project planning, stakeholder coordination, operational tracking, and process compliance across multiple Scientific Communications workstreams. The role involves managing timelines, facilitating meetings, building reports, and supporting publication and congress-related activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage end-to-end project schedules, dependencies, and deliverables for publications, scientific content, and congress activities.

  • Facilitate team meetings, document decisions and action items, and ensure timely follow-through.

  • Support the development of dashboards and routine reporting to track KPIs, data quality, and compliance metrics.

  • Coordinate congress planning and operational support according to established processes.

  • Assist in the end-to-end management of publication deliverables in partnership with global teams.

  • Collaborate with US-based publication planners and scientific experts to support publication operations.

  • Identify process gaps and propose automation opportunities to enhance efficiency and tool adoption.

  • Contribute to user testing and training during implementation of new platforms or system enhancements.

  • Ensure strict adherence to Amgen SOPs, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

Basic Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must meet one of the following:

  • Master’s degree in life sciences, pharmacy, business administration, or related fields.

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, pharmacy, business administration, or related fields plus 1.5 years of directly relevant industry experience.

  • Associate degree plus 3 years of directly related industry experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of project management experience, preferably in scientific communications or regulated environments.

  • Experience in publications, scientific writing, or scientific communications workflows.

  • Familiarity with platforms such as Salesforce and Veeva Vault.

  • Understanding of publication submission processes, congress operations, and scientific content tools.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Miro, MS Planner, or similar project management tools.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience in meeting facilitation and status reporting.

  • Exposure to automation or AI-enabled workflows, such as Power Platform, low-code/no-code tools, or VBA.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within global, matrixed, cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to work effectively across time zones and in fast-paced environments.
