Job Overview

The University of Cincinnati (UC) is seeking a Division Director for its Division of Rheumatology, Allergy, and Immunology in the Department of Internal Medicine. The Director will lead the division, reporting to the Department Chair, and align the division’s clinical care, research, and education missions. They will be responsible for faculty and staff recruitment, mentorship, fiscal oversight, and setting goals for academic, clinical, and research development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a diverse team of academicians within the division.
  • Manage a broad clinical portfolio, including consultative and procedural needs of UC Physicians and the Primary Care Network.
  • Drive clinical and basic science research initiatives.
  • Develop optimal utilization plans for Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
  • Set clinical productivity targets and manage divisional finances.
  • Conduct faculty recruitment, mentorship, and annual reviews.
  • Participate in departmental leadership conversations and multidisciplinary collaborations.
  • Support initiatives that extend beyond the local campus (e.g., telemedicine).

Minimum Requirements

  • MD, DO, MD/PhD, or equivalent degree.
  • Board certification in Rheumatology or Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology.
  • Unrestricted Ohio Medical License.
  • Current faculty appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor.
  • At least 10 years of clinical experience with demonstrated leadership in medical facilities.
