Job Overview

The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine is seeking a Division Director for the Division of Rheumatology, Allergy, and Immunology. This position offers the opportunity to lead an esteemed division in collaboration with the UC Health academic healthcare system and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. The successful candidate will oversee the division’s clinical care, research, and education missions, mentor faculty, and drive strategic development initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Management: Oversee a broad clinical portfolio including quality-driven consultative and procedural services, as well as cutting-edge quaternary care.
  • Research Expansion: Develop a roadmap to enhance clinical and basic science research within the division.
  • Utilization of Providers: Create a plan for optimal utilization of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
  • Strategic Development: Participate in strategic development conversations and set clinical productivity targets.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage divisional finances and set annual goals for academic, clinical, and research performance.
  • Recruitment & Mentorship: Lead faculty and staff recruitment, conduct annual reviews, and support faculty development.
  • Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Partner with other departments to foster multidisciplinary initiatives and explore telemedicine opportunities.
  • Additional Duties: Support other strategic initiatives and institutional goals as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • MD, DO, MD/PhD, or equivalent degree
  • Board Certification in Rheumatology or Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology
  • Unrestricted Ohio Medical License
  • Current faculty appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor
  • At least 10 years of clinical experience with demonstrated leadership and management experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or strong business acumen
  • Proven success in building and leading interdisciplinary teams
  • Strong skills in communication, negotiation, conflict resolution, and decision-making
