Purpose of the Role:

The Clinical Research Physician (CRP) in the Neuroscience Therapeutic Area (TA) plays a key role in supporting the development, commercialization, and patient-centric strategies for Lilly’s neuroscience portfolio, particularly in areas like Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia. The CRP works with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure scientific and medical support for the successful launch of new products and the ongoing support of marketed products. The role requires a balance of scientific expertise, clinical experience, and a strong understanding of business needs, regulatory requirements, and local healthcare systems.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Medical Expertise in Neuroscience:

    • Provide medical leadership in the neuroscience portfolio (Alzheimer’s Disease, Dementia, etc.), working closely with internal teams, including global, regional, and affiliate teams, to contribute to medical strategy and commercialization activities.
  • Clinical Data Management:

    • Stay current on clinical data for molecules under the portfolio and assist in the development of medical strategies based on these data.
    • Collaborate with various departments (Clinical Operations, Marketing, Medical Information, Global Product Safety, etc.) for product and clinical data dissemination.
  • External Collaboration:

    • Engage with clinicians, health care professionals (HCPs), and other influencers in the neuroscience field.
    • Lead or support partnerships with external stakeholders such as payers, advocacy groups, and government bodies.
  • Medical Education and Training:

    • Lead and contribute to Medical Education activities, including the development and approval of materials for various internal and external stakeholders.
    • Provide disease and product training to Lilly employees, including sales representatives and MSLs (Medical Science Liaisons).
  • Scientific Publications and Data Dissemination:

    • Lead scientific data dissemination efforts and take accountability for content creation in scientific publications related to the portfolio.
    • Ensure compliance with local laws, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and internal policies during data dissemination.
  • Clinical Trials and Research:

    • Participate in and drive the planning, execution, and support of clinical trials in line with regional and global clinical plans.
    • Lead site selection, investigator interactions, trial initiation meetings, and contribute to trial resolution.
  • Regulatory Submissions and HTAs:

    • Provide clinical input into regulatory submissions and Health Technology Assessments (HTAs), ensuring the necessary data and documentation are available.
  • Leadership and Team Development:

    • Mentor and manage direct reports (Medical Affairs Professionals) and collaborate with MSLs for field medical plans and trial data execution.
    • Play a role in recruitment and team development, ensuring performance management and fostering diversity and retention.

Qualifications:

  • Basic Requirements:

    • Education: Basic Medical Qualification (MBBS/MD), with full Medical Council registration or eligibility.
    • Experience: Expertise in neuroscience or therapeutic area clinical experience (highly desirable).
    • Skills: Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership capabilities. Ability to balance scientific priorities with business objectives.
  • Additional Requirements:

    • Ability to engage in domestic and international travel to support business needs.
    • Strong organizational and negotiation skills, and a demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities.
