Department Overview: Commercial GBS (Global Business Services)

The Commercial GBS unit plays a crucial role in supporting Novo Nordisk’s commercial strategy, market access, and commercial operations. The team provides competitive intelligence for key therapy areas, including diabetes, obesity, other serious chronic diseases (OSCD), and digital health. Commercial GBS partners with various teams including R&D, corporate strategy, and new product planning to drive data-driven insights and inform strategic decision-making across global markets.


Position: Associate Lead - Global Competitive Intelligence (CI)

Location: Bangalore, India
Department: Commercial GBS

The Associate Lead - Global Competitive Intelligence will be responsible for providing high-quality monitoring and generating insights related to competitor products, pipelines, and R&D strategies. This role will directly contribute to the strategic success of Novo Nordisk’s portfolio, with a focus on diabetes and related therapy areas. The position requires the ability to analyze complex data and provide insights that inform key business decisions at the global level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Competitive Intelligence Monitoring:

    • Provide high-quality, data-driven insights on competitors' products, pipelines, and commercial strategies in Novo Nordisk’s key therapy areas (primarily diabetes).
    • Monitor and attend scientific congresses and events, reporting key insights to relevant stakeholders.
    • Develop and maintain a competitor overview in the CI portal with regular reports (ad-hoc, monthly, quarterly, or annual).
  • Project & Brand Support:

    • Support Novo Nordisk’s R&D projects and commercial brands with competitor analysis at the project, portfolio, and corporate levels.
    • Drive ad-hoc analyses on key intelligence topics (KIT) to inform strategic decisions.
    • Mentor and coach new colleagues within the Competitive Intelligence team.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:

    • Build strong relationships across R&D, Medical Affairs, Business Development (BD), and Regulatory Affairs to ensure alignment on CI insights and business strategy.
    • Participate in Business Development (BD) opportunities within the diabetes area.
    • Promote the dissemination of CI insights and best practices to senior management and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Education:

    • PhD in Medicine or Life/Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a Master’s degree with 8+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience:

    • Strong experience in competitive intelligence, pharmaceutical industry, or related fields with a focus on therapeutic areas such as diabetes.
    • Experience in communicating scientific, medical, and commercial information to diverse audiences, including senior management and governance boards.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights.
  • Skills:

    • Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
    • Strategic mindset with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
    • High degree of innovation and the ability to drive change proactively.
    • Strong collaborative team player with mentoring skills.
