Role Summary

The Associate Director, Project Management – Value & Implementation (VIPM) is a senior project management leader within the V&I team, responsible for guiding complex, cross-functional projects spanning multiple therapeutic areas. This role requires leadership by influence, mastery of project management principles, and the ability to drive project execution with minimal guidance.

The role also contributes to business process improvement, talent development, and cross-functional alignment within GPAM.


Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Execution

  • Lead the Value & Implementation (V&I) process, managing projects of significant complexity across therapeutic areas.

  • Guide cross-functional teams through project planning, execution, and integration of strategic and tactical input from Medical Affairs, Outcomes Research, Market Access, Biostatistics, Commercial, and other disciplines.

  • Maintain enterprise-level project plans and critical information, using project management systems to monitor risks, dependencies, and timelines.

  • Ensure projects align with corporate business requirements and enable informed decision-making.

Stakeholder & Team Management

  • Lead key team meetings with clear agendas, actionable follow-ups, and accountability.

  • Build relationships and foster collaboration across cross-functional and geographically diverse teams.

  • Mentor and coach Specialist and Senior Specialist project managers, sharing best practices and lessons learned.

Process Improvement & Operational Excellence

  • Identify opportunities for business process optimization and improved project execution within GPAM.

  • Contribute to departmental initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, collaboration, and information sharing.

  • Support development and implementation of enterprise project management standards and best practices.


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in scientific or applied discipline (advanced degrees preferred).

  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience; pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience preferred.

  • Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional projects and teams by influence.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk management skills.

  • Familiarity with project management systems (PMIS), process optimization, and cross-functional integration.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (MPH, MS, MBA, Ph.D., PharmD).

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or formal project management training.

  • Experience with Value & Implementation projects, including integration of multiple functional areas.

  • Demonstrated success in mentoring and developing project management talent.
