Position Purpose

Astellas is seeking an Associate Director, Key Customer Marketing for PADCEV (enfortumab vedotin), a breakthrough therapy for patients with locally advanced or metastatic urothelial cancer.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in:

  • Driving key customer engagement strategies

  • Leading insight generation initiatives

  • Overseeing peer-to-peer programs and advisory boards

This role requires close collaboration with Pfizer (co-promote partner), as well as internal teams across Sales, Marketing, and Medical Affairs.


Key Responsibilities

1. Key External Expert (KEE) Engagement

  • Identify and cultivate trusted relationships with National, Regional, and Local KEEs (Oncologists, Urologists).

  • Monitor evolving urothelial cancer management trends and synthesize KEE insights for brand strategy.

  • Develop custom engagement plans for aligned KEEs in coordination with Pfizer and cross-functional teams.

  • Integrate KEE insights into brand and tactical action plans.

  • Manage and optimize KEE engagement experiences to support PADCEV’s strategic objectives.


2. Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Programs

  • Lead the strategy, planning, and execution of commercial Advisory Boards, Webinars, and Speaker Bureau activities.

  • Collaborate with Pfizer and external agencies to create promotional content and training materials.

  • Partner with the PADCEV KEE Manager to identify, train, and support promotional speakers.

  • Manage ongoing speaker bureau execution and ensure compliance with Astellas’ standards.

  • Identify opportunities for additional P2P initiatives in approved indications and oversee content development.


3. Project & Vendor Management

  • Lead agency relationships, including budget management, timeline tracking, and project execution.

  • Ensure all initiatives align with Astellas’ ethics, compliance, and strategic objectives.

  • Support additional marketing initiatives as assigned.

Note: This position has no direct reports but involves extensive cross-functional leadership.


Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 10+ years of relevant pharmaceutical experience (Marketing, Sales, Sales Training, etc.)

  • Proven experience engaging with Key External Experts in Oncology

  • High clinical acumen, preferably in urothelial cancer

  • Demonstrated analytical thinking and strategic problem-solving abilities

  • Expertise in brand/indication launches and stakeholder engagement

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and project management skills

  • Ability to travel up to 50% as required


Preferred:

  • MBA or equivalent graduate degree

  • Established KEE relationships in urothelial cancer

  • Experience in new drug or indication launches

  • Prior experience in co-promotion partnerships


Compensation

💰 Salary Range: $145,000 – $200,000
(Final compensation may vary based on experience and skillset.)
Flexible grade level based on candidate background.
