Purpose:
Scientific and Clinical Experts (SEs/CEs) require in-depth and cutting-edge scientific information due to their roles in treating patients, conducting research, and educating peers. The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) program addresses these needs by providing field-based medical professionals with deep content knowledge in specific therapeutic areas. MSLs facilitate scientific exchange between the industry and clinical communities, contributing to improved research, development, and commercialization strategies. This role will primarily engage with SEs/CEs in North Los Angeles.

Primary Responsibilities:
Scientific & Clinical Knowledge:

  • Deliver scientific and clinical knowledge addressing clinical care gaps and research questions.

  • Stay current with research on products, disease states, and standard care practices.

  • Establish credibility as a trusted resource for unbiased, accurate, and up-to-date information.

SE/CE Support:

  • Address HCP needs by applying emotional intelligence and strategic thinking.

  • Facilitate collaborative research opportunities and connect SEs/CEs with internal resources.

  • Support clinical development, site identification, and recruitment to accelerate pipeline and evidence generation.

Field Execution & Productivity:

  • Analyze customer data, plan, and prioritize engagements through face-to-face and virtual interactions.

  • Implement strategic territory plans, leveraging analytics for customer identification and routing prioritization.

  • Coordinate effectively with other Lilly field roles to create a cohesive customer experience.

Strategic Vision & Leadership:

  • Communicate actionable insights to internal teams.

  • Make informed decisions and escalate issues when appropriate.

  • Collaborate across functions and adapt to evolving business needs.

  • Embrace innovation and utilize digital platforms to enhance engagement.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:
Scientific/Clinical Acumen:

  • Advanced degree in health sciences (PharmD, MD, PhD) with 2-3 years of relevant clinical or TA experience preferred.

  • Masters or bachelor's degree in health sciences (BSN, RPh, PA, NP) with 5+ years of clinical, research, or industry experience in relevant therapeutic areas.

  • Valid U.S. driver's license and acceptable driving record required.

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Location Requirements:

  • Applicants should reside within 30 miles of Minneapolis Airport.

  • Field-based role requiring up to 80% travel, including weekends.

Other Information/Additional Preferences:

  • Experience in a field-based role is highly valued.

  • Familiarity with health systems, academic communities, and medical education preferred.

  • Proficiency with digital platforms for virtual HCP engagement.

  • Experience in cardiometabolic health (cardiovascular disease, diabetes, obesity) preferred.

Compensation:

  • Salary Range: $145,500 - $213,400
