Position Summary:

Miami University is seeking a dedicated Assistant/Associate Professor to join the Computer and Information Technology (CIT) Department. The successful candidate will teach courses in Information Technology or Cybersecurity & Networking, advise students, engage in research/scholarship, and provide meaningful service to the CIT department, the broader university community, and local stakeholders. This tenure-track position begins in August 2025 and offers a unique opportunity for faculty committed to open-access education and strong community ties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching: Deliver undergraduate and graduate-level courses in Information Technology or Cybersecurity & Networking.
  • Research: Maintain a program of research and scholarship within the field, contributing to the growth and reputation of the department.
  • Advising: Provide academic and professional guidance to students, assisting them with career development and academic success.
  • Service: Contribute to the CIT department, campus, students, and the broader university community through service activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Doctorate in Information TechnologyInformation SystemsComputing, or a closely related field by the appointment date.
  • Candidates with a doctorate in other fields and relevant experience in teaching or work related to the CIT department will also be considered.
  • For the Associate Professor rank, an established record of research/scholarship is required.
  • Consideration will also be given to candidates with significant teaching experience or industry experience in information technology or related fields.
