Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of 25–30 certified coders.

  • Ensure staff orientation, training, and compliance with a safe, secure, and legal work environment.

  • Manage performance metrics (timeliness, quality, productivity).

  • Plan, monitor, and appraise job results while coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees as needed.

  • Develop, coordinate, and enforce systems, policies, and productivity standards.

  • Maintain quality service by:

    • Enforcing standards for quality and customer service

    • Resolving issues and identifying trends

    • Recommending system improvements

  • Enhance professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing publications, networking, and engaging in professional societies.

  • Drive employee engagement and retention by:

    • Sharing company vision and goals

    • Empowering employees based on skills

    • Providing continuous feedback

  • Comply with employment terms, company policies, and directives, including work shifts, reassignments, flexible arrangements, and evolving business requirements.


Required Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate in any discipline

  • Certification: Certified Coder (AAPC or AHIMA)

  • Experience:

    • 2+ years as a Team Leader or Assistant Manager

    • Minimum team management experience of 15+ members

    • Background in medical coding is mandatory

  • Skills:

    • Performance management, coaching, supervision, quality management

    • Strong teamwork and ability to work under pressure

    • Effective feedback delivery

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

    • Ability to operate basic office equipment (copier, fax, etc.)
