Primary Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of 25–30 certified coders.
Ensure staff orientation, training, and compliance with a safe, secure, and legal work environment.
Manage performance metrics (timeliness, quality, productivity).
Plan, monitor, and appraise job results while coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees as needed.
Develop, coordinate, and enforce systems, policies, and productivity standards.
Maintain quality service by:
Enforcing standards for quality and customer service
Resolving issues and identifying trends
Recommending system improvements
Enhance professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing publications, networking, and engaging in professional societies.
Drive employee engagement and retention by:
Sharing company vision and goals
Empowering employees based on skills
Providing continuous feedback
Comply with employment terms, company policies, and directives, including work shifts, reassignments, flexible arrangements, and evolving business requirements.
Required Qualifications
Education: Graduate in any discipline
Certification: Certified Coder (AAPC or AHIMA)
Experience:
2+ years as a Team Leader or Assistant Manager
Minimum team management experience of 15+ members
Background in medical coding is mandatory
Skills:
Performance management, coaching, supervision, quality management
Strong teamwork and ability to work under pressure
Effective feedback delivery
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Ability to operate basic office equipment (copier, fax, etc.)
