Role Overview:
The Area Business Manager (ABM) supports the development and execution of brand strategies and tactical plans to drive growth for GSK’s Ventus brand. The ABM coaches and guides team members, ensures market performance, and has knowledge of public account operations (CGHS, Army, Railways, ESI) along with trade business.


Key Responsibilities

1. Sales & Business Performance

  • Achieve primary and secondary sales targets in the assigned territory.

  • Drive market share growth and business objectives.

  • Monitor territory performance and implement corrective actions as needed.

2. Team Leadership & Development

  • Set clear targets, guide on call planning, and review field activities.

  • Coach and mentor team members on product knowledge, selling skills, and customer engagement.

  • Identify capability gaps and organize training/development interventions.

  • Motivate the team, manage attrition, and build a high-performance culture.

3. Customer Engagement & Market Development

  • Build strong relationships with key doctors, hospitals, stockists, and distributors.

  • Support the team in critical customer calls and joint fieldwork.

  • Ensure effective implementation of scientific engagement activities.

4. Execution of Strategy

  • Implement marketing campaigns and monitor effectiveness.

Qualifications & Experience

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree with Science background / BPharm

Professional Experience:

  • 2–5 years as an ABM in pharmaceutical marketing.

  • Experience in respiratory or specialty care segments is a plus.
