Analytical Chemist – Entry Level (Night Shift) | Abbott | Casa Grande, AZ (On-site)

Job Summary:

Abbott Nutrition is hiring an Entry-Level Analytical Chemist for its state-of-the-art nutrition manufacturing facility in Casa Grande, AZ. This is a 12-hour night shift role designed for science graduates or individuals with laboratory experience looking to start their career in a regulated pharmaceutical and nutritional environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing analytical testing to ensure product quality and regulatory compliance, while supporting manufacturing operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct laboratory assays following prescribed methods and quality standards.

  • Verify that test results meet specification limits and initiate appropriate actions for non-conforming products.

  • Enter data accurately into Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and other documentation platforms.

  • Coordinate testing schedules with processing stages to minimize downtime.

  • Perform additional product testing such as dilution, line monitoring, and carryover assessments.

  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving testing issues.

  • Adhere to safety rules, report incidents, and maintain a clean and safe work environment.

  • Ensure compliance with FDA, OSHA, and Abbott policies and procedures.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) with:

    • 1 year of college science courses and 1 year of college mathematics

    • OR 2 years of laboratory experience

    • OR 4 years of experience in a food or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment

  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.

  • Familiarity with laboratory safety procedures.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team-based manufacturing environment.


Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science with at least 1 year of college-level laboratory studies and mathematics.

  • Prior experience in a food, pharmaceutical, or nutraceutical manufacturing setting.
