Analytical Chemist – Entry Level (Night Shift) | Abbott | Casa Grande, AZ (On-site)
Job Summary:
Abbott Nutrition is hiring an Entry-Level Analytical Chemist for its state-of-the-art nutrition manufacturing facility in Casa Grande, AZ. This is a 12-hour night shift role designed for science graduates or individuals with laboratory experience looking to start their career in a regulated pharmaceutical and nutritional environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing analytical testing to ensure product quality and regulatory compliance, while supporting manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct laboratory assays following prescribed methods and quality standards.
Verify that test results meet specification limits and initiate appropriate actions for non-conforming products.
Enter data accurately into Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and other documentation platforms.
Coordinate testing schedules with processing stages to minimize downtime.
Perform additional product testing such as dilution, line monitoring, and carryover assessments.
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving testing issues.
Adhere to safety rules, report incidents, and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Ensure compliance with FDA, OSHA, and Abbott policies and procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
High School Diploma (or equivalent) with:
1 year of college science courses and 1 year of college mathematics
OR 2 years of laboratory experience
OR 4 years of experience in a food or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
Familiarity with laboratory safety procedures.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team-based manufacturing environment.
Preferred Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Science with at least 1 year of college-level laboratory studies and mathematics.
Prior experience in a food, pharmaceutical, or nutraceutical manufacturing setting.
