Overview:

Join Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Early Development team as an Associate Director of Clinic Operations, where you will lead clinical and technical operations for early-phase (Phase I–IV) clinical trials. You'll ensure optimal clinic function, resource planning, client satisfaction, and the successful execution of complex clinical protocols.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily clinic operations, including staffing, scheduling, participant recruitment, and study conduction.

  • Lead a multidisciplinary team managing logistics for clinical studies and client deliverables.

  • Collaborate with clinic leadership and department managers to ensure operational alignment and resource optimization.

  • Attend and contribute to sponsor meetings and business development efforts.

  • Manage strategic planning, retrospective analysis of clinic performance, and future capability planning.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, FDA, and ICH guidelines.

  • Participate in automation and technological initiatives to enhance clinic operations.

  • Represent the clinic in client dinners, events, and key sponsor relationships.

  • Provide weekend and after-hours leadership support as needed.


Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or Master’s in a related field preferred.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in clinical research operations.

  • 5+ years in a management/leadership role.

  • Strong background in clinical trials, project management, regulatory frameworks, and operational leadership.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Extensive knowledge of clinical trial management.

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.

  • Excellent communication (written and verbal).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to facilitate cross-functional collaboration and manage multiple priorities.

  • Skilled in time management, operational planning, and staff development.


Work Environment:

  • Fully onsite in a clinical/office setting.

  • Frequent stationary work (6–8 hours/day).

  • Occasional lifting (15–20 lbs.), bending, and travel (domestic/international).

  • Weekend and evening availability required for sponsor events or clinic oversight.
