Primary Responsibilities
Maintain knowledge of coding, billing requirements, and regulatory updates.
Monitor KPIs including productivity, quality, turnaround time (TAT), attendance, and attrition.
Manage assigned projects, including personnel, performance, and discipline.
Provide functional expertise and leadership; manage relationships with internal stakeholders.
Serve as primary client contact; manage client communication and expectations.
Review and analyze periodic reports, metrics, and operational practices.
Support quality initiatives and process improvement projects.
Assist in internal audits to ensure compliance.
Foster a positive work environment encouraging teamwork, creativity, and high morale.
Provide direction, coaching, and feedback to staff; resolve operational issues.
Participate in planning, implementation, and evaluation of operations and systems.
Manage attrition and implement retention strategies.
Prepare annual business plans, including operating budgets.
Negotiate solutions, resolve conflicts, and handle critical situations.
Comply with company policies, employment contract terms, and organizational directives.
Required Qualifications
Education: Graduate or Postgraduate in Life Sciences or Allied Medicine (e.g., BHMS, BAMS, BPT, Dental, Pharmacy, Nursing).
Certification: Certified coder – AAPC / AHIMA (CCS, CPC, CPC-H, CCS-P).
Experience:
8+ years in medical coding.
2+ years as a Team Lead.
Knowledge & Skills:
Medical terminology, human anatomy/physiology, pathophysiology, ICD-10 CM, CPT.
Organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures.
Healthcare reimbursement methodologies.
Analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Employee engagement and customer satisfaction focus.
Ability to coach staff, monitor performance, and address training needs.
