Job Overview

IQVIA, a global leader in clinical research services, healthcare intelligence, and commercial insights, is seeking a seasoned executive for the role of Vice President – APAC Biotech & Delivery Innovation. This is a strategic, client-facing leadership position responsible for driving the continued growth of IQVIA’s Biotech Solutions across the Asia-Pacific region while ensuring operational excellence in the delivery of complex, global clinical study programs.

As a key member of the APAC senior leadership team, the role will focus on innovating delivery models that emphasize speed, quality, scalability, and consistency, while strengthening client relationships and expanding IQVIA’s biotech footprint in the region.

Key Responsibilities

APAC Biotech Solutions Leadership (Approximately 60%)

  • Lead and scale IQVIA’s Biotech Solutions business across the APAC region.

  • Drive new client acquisition and business development with emerging biotech and pharmaceutical organizations.

  • Act as the senior executive contact for strategic client engagements, opportunity development, and long-term account management.

  • Oversee APAC biotech project leadership teams to ensure successful delivery aligned with contractual commitments, customer satisfaction, and repeat business.

  • Champion an integrated, globally aligned delivery model in collaboration with global IQVIA Biotech and Research & Development Solutions leadership.

  • Own full Profit and Loss (P&L) responsibility for IQVIA Biotech APAC, ensuring optimal allocation of financial, operational, and human resources.

Global Project Excellence & Delivery Innovation (Approximately 20%)

  • Serve as the APAC regional liaison with global project leadership teams to ensure visibility into multi-regional study pipelines, execution status, scope changes, and risk areas.

  • Lead the resolution of complex delivery challenges, client escalations, and financial commitments.

  • Represent the APAC region in global delivery innovation initiatives and support implementation across local markets.

APAC Regional Delivery Excellence (Approximately 10%)

  • Partner with APAC and global business operations leaders to review and improve delivery KPIs, operational performance metrics, and financial health indicators.

  • Contribute to initiatives ensuring achievement of APAC research and development operational and financial targets.

Leadership & Operational Management

  • Provide executive leadership across large, multi-country clinical operations teams.

  • Develop and mentor senior leaders and managers, aligning talent development with organizational strategy.

  • Define and execute regional clinical operations strategy, resourcing plans, and workforce development initiatives.

  • Ensure adherence to GCP, ICH, and global regulatory requirements across all programs.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, and customer experience.

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, risk assessment, and financial performance monitoring for the region.

  • Support clinical operations marketing initiatives and global sales enablement activities.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Life Sciences, or another scientific discipline (advanced degree preferred).

  • Minimum 17 years of experience in clinical trials, clinical operations, or project management.

  • At least 13 years of leadership experience managing large, multi-regional or global teams.

  • Strong working knowledge of GCP, ICH guidelines, and global regulatory frameworks.

  • Proven expertise in clinical research financial management, project accounting, and performance metrics.

  • Demonstrated success in P&L ownership and large-scale operational leadership.

  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and decision-making capabilities.

  • Strong presentation, communication, and negotiation skills with fluency in English.

  • High level of organizational, analytical, and problem-solving ability.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, global environment.
