Job Responsibilities

  • Manage and direct a business development team, providing professional development and performance management for assigned staff. Review the progress and performance of direct reports, and collaborate with the Global Business Development head to establish team growth goals.
  • Develop annual and long-term business plans for assigned accounts and region, identifying strategies for business opportunities and strategic alliances.
  • Continuously assess and adjust quarterly plans based on changing needs and priorities.
  • Lead the planning, implementation, and review of monthly sales objectives, including budgeting time and resources and motivating the team to achieve goals.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date account records within Salesforce, tracking profiles, opportunities, and communications for active and targeted accounts.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge in designated therapeutic areas and Syneos Health’s service capabilities, including clinical services, data management, statistics, medical writing, and functional services, to offer "value-added" solutions to clients.
  • Lead regular updates with the business development team to address new activities in the region, promptly sharing important issues with management.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

  • Ideal candidate should be based in California, West Coast, USA.
  • BA/BS in a science-related field, or equivalent experience, with extensive experience in clinical research, including business development and management or senior management.
  • Advanced degree such as an MBA, PhD, or MD is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with superior skills in presentation, documentation, negotiation, leadership, and interpersonal communications.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Must have a valid, current driver’s license and the ability to secure a corporate credit card.
