About the Role

Piramal Pharma Solutions (PPS), a leading Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO), is seeking a Trainee – R&D to support our research and development team in Chennai. This entry-level role is ideal for recent M.Sc. Chemistry / Organic Chemistry graduates looking to gain hands-on experience in drug synthesis, analytical evaluation, and laboratory operations.

The candidate will actively contribute to ongoing projects while adhering to cGMP, GLP, and laboratory safety standards, supporting senior scientists in day-to-day experimental execution and reporting.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support execution of chemical reactions under the supervision of senior R&D staff.

  • Assist in interpretation of analytical results to derive conclusions for experiments.

  • Handle and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functioning.

  • Complete documentation of all reactions, experiments, and associated data according to company SOPs.

  • Contribute ideas and provide intellectual input for project-related improvements.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project milestones and timelines.

  • Prepare weekly updates, experimental reports, and final project documentation.

  • Adhere to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and ensure compliance with cGMP norms.


Qualifications

  • M.Sc. in Chemistry or Organic Chemistry (essential)

  • 0–1 years of experience in a synthesis lab or R&D environment preferred

  • Basic understanding of laboratory operations, chemical reactions, and analytical techniques

  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and documentation skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment

  • Strong communication and time management skills
