Job Overview

We are seeking a certified and experienced Medical Coding Trainer for the role of Management Trainee – Operations, specializing in Denial Management. This position is ideal for professionals with strong analytical capabilities, hands-on coding expertise, and a solid understanding of the end-to-end Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) process.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering structured training programs, mentoring coders, supporting client transitions, and ensuring compliance with payer guidelines and regulatory standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver training programs aligned with the Coding – Denial Management training curriculum

  • Accurately analyze and code medical records using ICD-10-CM, CPT conventions, and HCPCS codes

  • Research and interpret payer-specific guidelines to ensure accurate denial resolution strategies

  • Review medical records across multiple specialties and recommend appropriate denial actions

  • Train and manage diverse batches of new hires and experienced coders

  • Mentor coders to strengthen denial management capabilities and improve coding accuracy

  • Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) support during client transitions and process migrations

  • Conduct focus audits and compliance audits for coders and auditors (ATA)

  • Track, analyze, and report trainee performance to ensure alignment with client expectations and SD/SQ team benchmarks


Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • In-depth knowledge of the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) lifecycle

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and people management skills

  • Ability to train, mentor, and motivate coding professionals

  • Strong understanding of denial trends, payer rules, and compliance requirements


Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of total professional experience

    • 3–4 years in Medical Coding

    • At least 1 year in Denial Coding Management

    • Minimum 1 year in a Medical Coding Trainer role

  • Active AAPC or AHIMA certification (CPC, CCS, CRC, or equivalent required)

  • Proven experience training and mentoring medical coders

  • Prior experience in healthcare operations or RCM training is highly preferred
