Lupin is hiring a Trainee Officer to join its Biotech division in Pune. This entry-level role focuses on microbiological testing, environmental monitoring, water testing, and ensuring GMP-compliant laboratory operations. The position provides hands-on exposure to microbiology practices critical for biologics development and regulatory compliance.
This role is ideal for recent postgraduates in Microbiology or Biotechnology looking to build expertise in cGMP-compliant laboratory operations, sterility testing, and environmental monitoring.
0 to 2 years of relevant experience in microbiology or biotech laboratory operations
Familiarity with cGMP guidelines, laboratory compliance, and quality systems
Postgraduate degree (M.Sc.) in Microbiology or Biotechnology
Perform environmental monitoring of classified areas
Conduct bioburden, BET (Bacterial Endotoxin Test), and sterility testing
Prepare culture media for utility and area monitoring
Sub-culturing, serial dilution of standard cultures, and identification of isolates
Perform water sampling and microbiological testing
Conduct population determination of biological indicators
Operate and calibrate laboratory instruments, including:
pH meters
Analytical balances
Autoclaves
DHS (Depyrogenation Hot Air Sterilizer)
Incubators
Air samplers and particle counters
Perform compressed air sampling and analysis
Conduct qualification of equipment such as autoclaves, incubators, DHS, and KTA
Monitor and report deviations, out-of-specification results, and potential safety risks
Maintain cGMP compliance and audit-ready laboratory conditions
Follow Change Control, Deviations, Sample Management, and Stability Management protocols
Ensure accurate record-keeping of all microbiological tests and environmental monitoring activities
Strong knowledge of microbiological principles and laboratory practices
Familiarity with environmental monitoring and sterility testing for biologics
Understanding of cGMP and regulatory compliance requirements
Attention to detail, accuracy, and safety awareness
Ability to work in a disciplined, team-oriented laboratory environment
