Cognizant is seeking a Technical Lead – Medical Coding (Healthcare) to lead complex medical coding operations and support revenue cycle management (RCM) excellence. This senior-level role is ideal for professionals with strong domain expertise in medical coding, healthcare products, and compliance-driven delivery models.
The position follows a hybrid work model and requires night shift availability, offering exposure to global healthcare clients and enterprise-scale transformation projects.
Lead and oversee end-to-end medical coding operations to ensure accuracy, quality, and regulatory compliance
Drive optimization of revenue cycle management processes to improve financial and operational outcomes
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance healthcare product solutions and coding workflows
Analyze coding data, identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities, and implement corrective actions
Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and performance support to junior coders and team members
Develop, maintain, and enforce standard operating procedures, policies, and documentation for coding practices
Ensure adherence to ICD, CPT, HCPCS, payer guidelines, and global regulatory standards
Conduct internal audits and quality checks to maintain coding accuracy and compliance benchmarks
Support innovation initiatives by leveraging healthcare product and RCM expertise
Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and clients to resolve coding-related issues
Lead continuous improvement initiatives and stay updated on industry changes, regulations, and best practices
Contribute to training programs, knowledge transition, and capability development initiatives
Total Experience: 8–12 years in medical coding and healthcare revenue cycle management
Proven expertise in healthcare products, coding operations, and RCM processes
Strong knowledge of medical coding standards, compliance requirements, and audit processes
Demonstrated experience in leading teams, optimizing coding performance, and driving quality outcomes
Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment with night shift alignment
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
Certified Revenue Cycle Specialist (CRCS)
