Job Summary

Cognizant is seeking a Team Lead – Pharmacovigilance with 6 to 9 years of professional experience for our Associate Returnship Program. This is a great opportunity for experienced professionals looking to return to work and contribute to impactful pharmacovigilance operations in a dynamic, global environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Pharma Research & Development, advanced MS Excel skills, and experience in Pharmacovigilance (PV) Case Processing and Safety Operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage pharmacovigilance activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards.

  • Apply expertise in Pharma R&D to enhance the quality and efficiency of safety operations.

  • Use MS Excel to perform accurate data analysis and reporting.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety data into drug development processes.

  • Monitor and evaluate adverse event reports to detect safety signals and trends.

  • Ensure timely and accurate case processing as per SOPs and global regulations.

  • Work collaboratively with global teams to harmonize pharmacovigilance best practices.

  • Develop and implement safety monitoring plans to proactively manage potential risks.

  • Conduct internal audits and assessments to ensure regulatory compliance.

  • Provide training and mentoring to junior team members.

  • Support the creation of safety reports and regulatory submissions.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize PV operations.

  • Stay current on global pharmacovigilance regulations and trends.


Required Qualifications

  • 6–9 years of experience in Pharmacovigilance and Safety Operations.

  • Strong expertise in Pharma Research & Development.

  • Proficient in MS Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data manipulation and reporting).

  • Experience in PV Case Processing is highly desirable.

  • Capable of working in a hybrid model with rotational shifts.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

  • High attention to detail with a proactive, risk-based approach.


Preferred Certification

  • Certified Pharmacovigilance Professional (CPP) or equivalent certification (preferred).
