Role Overview:
The Principal/Senior Statistical Programmer will be responsible for developing and optimizing Shiny applications, creating interactive data visualizations, integrating databases, and ensuring the performance and reliability of applications in clinical development. This role requires advanced proficiency in R and Shiny development, along with experience in web technologies and performance optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
R Programming & Shiny Development:
Develop advanced Shiny applications with reactivity, modules, layouts, and custom components.
Customize the appearance and behavior of Shiny applications using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Optimize Shiny applications for performance, focusing on load times, responsiveness, and handling large datasets efficiently.
Data Visualization & Interaction:
Create interactive and insightful visualizations using libraries like Plotly within Shiny apps.
Database Integration:
Integrate Shiny applications with databases (e.g., SQL) for data storage, retrieval, and manipulation.
Testing & Debugging:
Write unit tests, perform debugging, and troubleshoot issues within Shiny applications.
Version Control & Collaboration:
Use Git for version control and collaborative development.
Communication & Documentation:
Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand requirements and document application features.
Agile Development:
Work in an Agile environment to support project development and timelines.
Requirements:
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in R programming and Shiny development.
Advanced knowledge of Shiny, including reactivity, modules, and custom input/output components.
Familiarity with web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and Python/Selenium testing framework.
Skills:
Strong data visualization skills using libraries like Plotly.
Proficiency in database integration (SQL).
Ability to optimize Shiny applications for performance.
Experience with Git for version control and collaborative development.
Strong communication skills and ability to work in an Agile environment.
