Job Title: Supervisor – Coding
Location: Bangalore, Karnataka, India

Job Summary:
Optum is hiring a Coding Supervisor to lead a team of certified medical coders, particularly within the HCC (QRAO) coding domain. In this leadership role, you will oversee performance metrics, enforce quality standards, develop team capabilities, and contribute to overall operational success. Candidates with prior experience managing HCC teams and a strong foundation in performance and project management are encouraged to apply.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of 25–30 certified coders, ensuring smooth recruitment, training, and development processes.

  • Supervise daily operations with a focus on timeliness, productivity, and quality metrics.

  • Conduct performance appraisals and provide coaching, counseling, and disciplinary feedback when necessary.

  • Maintain high-quality standards by resolving service-related issues and identifying improvement areas.

  • Analyze trends, recommend system improvements, and ensure compliance with productivity protocols.

  • Continuously enhance professional knowledge through workshops, publications, and networking.

  • Adhere to all organizational policies and directives including flexibility in shifts, team structure, or location reassignment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate in any discipline.

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience handling HCC teams (QRAO) in roles such as Assistant Manager or Deputy Manager.

  • Strong background in performance management, coaching, project supervision, quality control, and budgeting.

  • Demonstrated leadership in developing standards and fostering teamwork.

  • Ability to manage high-pressure situations while maintaining operational focus.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint) and basic office equipment.
