Role Purpose

The Strategic Healthcare Partner (SHP) plays a pivotal role in fostering long-term partnerships with prioritized healthcare institutions and systems. Reporting to the Commercial Operations Director and collaborating closely with the Tender and KAM Lead, the SHP works to address patient healthcare needs through innovative initiatives and commercial agreements. By prioritizing customer-centricity and collaboration, the SHP ensures the continued availability of Pfizer medicines and establishes Pfizer as a trusted partner in healthcare.


Key Responsibilities

Healthcare Institutions and Systems Engagement

  • Develop innovative solutions to complex problems impacting Sub Business Units or Sub Operating Units.
  • Work independently on self-initiated assignments, exercising sound judgment.
  • Identify key decision-makers and influencers within healthcare institutions.
  • Understand the priorities, challenges, and needs of institutional leadership.
  • Establish long-term consultative relationships with senior executives to become a trusted business partner.

Leadership

  • Align Pfizer’s business strategy across Business Units with a short- to long-term vision.
  • Ensure high-quality customer engagement through strategic in-person and virtual interactions.
  • Identify areas of mutual interest that support unmet patient needs and develop partnership approaches.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to create strategic, holistic plans addressing institutional healthcare priorities.
  • Proactively engage subject matter experts (SMEs) and Pfizer capabilities to address customer needs.

Strategy Development and Execution

  • Foster a culture of innovation, encouraging appropriate risk-taking for process improvement.
  • Evaluate and forecast trends, opportunities, and competitor activities in governmental accounts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop account-focused messaging and strategies for key brands.
  • Design and execute partnership initiatives tailored to payers, supply chain management, and material management stakeholders.
  • Support Tender Lead in contract negotiations with expertise in pricing discussions and value-added service offerings.
  • Develop above-brand engagement programs to address account needs as defined by Account Managers.

Collaboration and Relationship Management

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Medical, and Health & Value, to create tailored solutions for key accounts.
  • Support Tender Lead in vendor management and contract execution for digital initiatives and partnerships.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with all key stakeholders within the healthcare ecosystem.

Qualifications and Skills

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or Medicine; a degree in Business Management is an advantage.

Experience

  • At least 8 years of experience in commercial roles such as sales, marketing, or retail, with a proven track record.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Governmental Key Account Management is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare and pharmaceutical environments.
  • Familiarity with technological innovations in the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors.
  • Knowledge of local pharmaceutical laws and regulations is advantageous.

Skills

  • Exceptional knowledge of commercial and account management disciplines.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
  • Experience with Saudi healthcare market is highly desirable.
