The Opportunity:

Teva is seeking a Chemical Researcher I to join their TAPI team. This role focuses on developing cost-effective, non-infringing, and eco-friendly processes for complex or small molecule APIs. The ideal candidate will have expertise in organic chemistry, multi-step synthesis, and will contribute to technology transfers at both the pilot and commercial scales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Synthesis Development: Design and conduct multi-step organic synthesis for APIs, optimizing processes to be economically viable and environmentally friendly.
  • Process Identification & Selection: Identify and select various synthesis routes for developing non-infringing processes for API molecules.
  • Laboratory Organization: Organize raw materials, chemicals, reference standards, and specialized equipment for laboratory use.
  • Technology Transfer: Facilitate smooth technology transfers from bench-scale to pilot and commercial-scale processes.
  • Safety Reports: Prepare safety reports related to the development of API processes.
  • Documentation: Prepare required documents for various authorities, including those necessary for DMF filing.
  • Team Collaboration: Work as part of a collaborative team within the R&D and interdepartmental departments, providing support during development and technology transfer.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Requirement: M.Sc. in Chemistry or Organic Chemistry.
  • Experience: 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in chemical research or API development.
  • Skills & Attributes:
    • Strong knowledge of organic chemistry and multi-step organic synthesis.
    • Familiarity with eco-friendly and cost-effective process development.
    • Strong team-oriented, self-motivated individual with attention to detail.
    • Experience in preparing documents for DMF filings and safety reports.
    • Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
