Key Responsibilities

  • Programming & Data Management:

    • Use SAS or other software to develop custom programming code for generating summary tables, data listings, graphs, and derived datasets in accordance with the statistical analysis plan.

    • Ensure programming outputs meet quality standards and project requirements. Perform validation programming and resolve discrepancies with team members.

    • Maintain organized and up-to-date project documentation for quality control and inspection readiness.

  • Collaboration & Leadership:

    • Act as Lead Statistical Programmer, overseeing and guiding the programming activities of other programmers.

    • Manage and prioritize programming tasks across multiple projects, ensuring deliverables are met on time.

    • Participate in meetings with sponsors, contributing insights and ensuring accurate communication of project status.

    • Mentor junior programmers through training courses, presentations, and performance feedback.

  • Project Delivery & Risk Management:

    • Manage scheduling and deadlines, adapting to changes in project timelines or priorities.

    • Negotiate and establish accurate time estimates for programming activities, ensuring projects stay on track.

    • Review project documentation, such as the Statistical Analysis Plan and programming specifications, providing feedback that minimizes inefficiencies.

  • Compliance & Standards:

    • Follow applicable SOPs and regulatory guidelines (e.g., ICH) to ensure compliance in all programming tasks.

    • Assist in ensuring project deliverables meet CDISC Standards (SDTM, ADaM, DEFINE.XML) and contribute to regulatory submissions.

    • Maintain knowledge of industry standards and regulatory changes, incorporating this knowledge into project work.


Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree in a scientific or statistical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and programming experience.

  • Extensive experience in SAS programming within a clinical trial environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proficiency in English.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Experience mentoring and guiding junior programming staff.

  • In-depth knowledge of clinical trial processes, regulatory standards, and industry guidelines.
