We are currently seeking a Senior French Payroll Specialist to join our EMEA Payroll Operations team based in Belgrade, Serbia. This role holds end-to-end responsibility for French payroll processing, ensuring full compliance with statutory, tax, and labor regulations while supporting operational excellence across payroll systems and controls.


Key Responsibilities

French Payroll Operations

  • Serve as the primary Senior Payroll Specialist responsible for monthly French payroll processing and reporting.

  • Maintain expert-level knowledge of French payroll legislation, including statutory deductions, social contributions, and various types of leave.

  • Ensure accurate transfer of employee master data from HR systems into payroll platforms, validating earnings, deductions, and benefits.

Data Management and Payroll Processing

  • Process and validate employee Time and Attendance data using standard payroll and labor reports.

  • Execute payroll close activities, including reconciliations between payroll outputs, HR systems, and financial records.

  • Prepare payroll analysis reports to support month-end close and payroll journal entries.

Compliance, Reporting, and Controls

  • Submit mandatory monthly payroll declarations and statutory reports to French authorities.

  • Provide ad hoc payroll and statistical data to regulatory bodies as required.

  • Support internal and external payroll tax audits, ensuring accuracy and audit readiness.

  • Maintain strong internal controls in line with SOX compliance and payroll best practices.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with HR, HR Shared Services, and Finance teams to streamline payroll processes and reduce operational risk.

  • Contribute to standardization initiatives across EMEA payroll operations.

  • Support employee payroll inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate issue resolution.

  • Provide backup or support for other EMEA payrolls as required.


Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Associate degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 5–7 years of hands-on payroll experience, with proven expertise in French payroll.

    • Experience managing high-volume payroll processing (typically 600+ employees).

    • Prior experience working with large ERP systems or external payroll providers.

  • Strong understanding of French tax regulations, social security contributions, and statutory reporting.

  • Fluency in French (written and spoken) is mandatory; professional proficiency in English is required.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.

  • Strong collaboration, communication, organizational, and prioritization skills.

Additional Information
