Senior Research Associate – Chemistry Solutions

Position Overview

The Senior Research Associate will be responsible for executing chemical reactions and synthesizing target molecules or compounds in alignment with client specifications. The role demands strong expertise in organic synthesis, analytical techniques, and adherence to safety and data integrity standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Chemical Synthesis and Reaction Execution

  • Execute chemical reactions for the synthesis of target molecules as per defined client requirements and proposed synthetic routes.

  • Review and discuss the relevant Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) with team members.

  • Identify potential safety risks and coordinate with supervisors to ensure safe operations.

  • Plan and perform reactions using appropriate reagents, equipment, and controlled conditions (temperature, pressure, etc.) with optimal resource utilization.

  • Manage and monitor multiple reactions in parallel to achieve productivity goals.

  • Track reaction progress using analytical techniques and document observations accurately.

  • Perform suitable workup, purification, and isolation processes to achieve desired compound quality.

  • Analyze analytical data, interpret results, and prepare technical summaries to support project goals.

2. Laboratory Safety and Compliance

  • Follow all safety protocols, good laboratory practices (GLP), and quality system requirements.

  • Ensure proper handling, maintenance, and usage of laboratory equipment, instruments, and apparatus as per SOPs.

  • Maintain a clean and compliant work environment.

3. Documentation, Data Integrity, and Confidentiality

  • Maintain accurate and compliant laboratory records in line with client and organizational standards.

  • Uphold strict confidentiality around intellectual property (IP), project data, and research findings.

  • Prepare final reports, technical documentation, and project summaries as required.

4. Continuous Learning and Team Collaboration

  • Participate in technical discussions, internal training sessions, and ongoing development programs to enhance knowledge in organic synthesis and analytical methodologies.

  • Contribute to maintaining high team morale and supporting peer learning.

Required Skills and Technical Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of Organic Chemistry and hands-on experience in synthetic execution.

  • Understanding of laboratory safety protocols and MSDS guidelines.

  • Familiarity with IP confidentiality, documentation standards, and data integrity requirements.

  • Ability to optimize reactions through resource planning and cost-benefit analysis.

  • Proficiency in analytical tools and interpretation of reaction data.

Educational Qualifications

  • M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry or Medicinal Chemistry

  • Experience: 1 to 5 years in a relevant research or synthesis role

  • Candidates with research publications in reputable scientific journals will be given preference.
