Role Overview

The Senior Medical Information Writer is responsible for developing scientifically accurate, evidence-based medical information content to support global and local medical information activities across Sanofi’s therapeutic areas.

The role supports the Global Medical Information (GMI) team by:

  • Conducting literature research

  • Writing scientific response documents

  • Supporting regulatory and medical information deliverables

  • Collaborating with medical and pharmacovigilance teams

The position requires strong:

  • Scientific writing expertise

  • Literature evaluation skills

  • Therapeutic area knowledge

  • Stakeholder collaboration capabilities

Key Responsibilities

1. Scientific Research & Medical Writing

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting literature searches and scientific reviews

  • Extracting and summarizing complex clinical/scientific data

  • Writing evidence-based scientific response documents

  • Maintaining fair-balanced and current medical content

Deliverables may include:

  • Medical information response documents

  • Escalated inquiry responses

  • US NDA Annual Reports

  • US compendia review contributions


2. Medical Information Support

  • Adapt global scientific content for country-specific use.

  • Support assigned therapeutic areas with accurate medical information.

  • Maintain and expand therapeutic area expertise.


3. Content Review & Quality Control

  • Review content developed by peer writers.

  • Ensure:

    • Scientific accuracy

    • Regulatory compliance

    • Editorial quality

    • Timely delivery


4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

Collaborate with:

  • Global Medical Information teams

  • Medical Affairs teams

  • Pharmacovigilance departments

  • Regional medical stakeholders

  • Vendor partners

Support:

  • Content planning

  • Medical writing needs analysis

  • Customized deliverable development


5. Process & Operational Excellence

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing medical writing projects

  • Meeting timelines and quality expectations

  • Supporting content planning initiatives

  • Improving content delivery using stakeholder feedback


6. Stakeholder Management

Build and maintain effective relationships with:

  • Medical scientific communities

  • Mentor junior medical information writers

Required Qualifications

Experience

Candidates should have:

  • 5+ years of medical writing experience in:

    • Pharmaceutical industry

    • Healthcare industry

    • Clinical settings

AND

  • 2–3 years of direct Medical Information experience in a pharmaceutical company


Technical Skills

Strong expertise in:

  • Medical writing

  • Scientific editing

  • Literature evaluation

  • Multilevel response development

  • Medical operational excellence

  • Time and risk management


Scientific & Functional Expertise

Knowledge of:

  • Regulatory requirements

  • Medical information processes
