Senior Medical Editor – Medical Writing (Remote)

Job Summary:
Syneos Health is seeking an experienced Senior Medical Editor to join its global medical writing team. This role requires extensive experience in medical editing, copyediting, and publishing across clinical and regulatory documents, ensuring strict adherence to FDA, EMA, ICH, and internal editorial standards. The role offers flexibility with remote work and is ideal for candidates looking to contribute to large, complex medical writing projects in a collaborative and innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain compliance with FDA, EU, ICH guidelines, and client-specific standards for all medical documents.
Represent the editorial group in cross-functional teams and medical writing projects.
Monitor project timelines and budget constraints, updating leads as needed.
Train and mentor medical editors and writers in document preparation and standards.
Lead and manage complex or large-scale medical writing projects ensuring smooth editorial workflow.
Copyedit scientific documents following AMA or custom style guides ensuring clarity, accuracy, and data integrity.
Conduct data integrity checks and factual accuracy reviews for all assigned documents.
Contribute to internal process improvements and revision of SOPs for editorial practices.
Compile and publish regulatory and clinical deliverables as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Clinical Sciences, English, Journalism, or equivalent.
Minimum 5+ years of medical editing experience in copyediting, data integrity review, or publishing.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Experience with Adobe Acrobat, ISIToolbox preferred.
Strong knowledge of AMA Style Guide and familiarity with regulatory document standards.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Ability to handle multiple assignments independently under tight deadlines.
Familiarity with FDA, EU regulations, ICH, and ISO standards preferred.
