Role Overview

As the Senior EHS&S Manager, you will develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive environment, safety, sustainability, and industrial hygiene programs at the facility level. You'll ensure regulatory compliance, drive strategic initiatives, and serve as a key liaison with agencies like EPA and OSHA while leading specialized site EHS&S activities. Teal


Key Responsibilities

  • Program Leadership: Develop, implement, and manage EHS&S programs, overseeing compliance with environmental, safety, sustainability, and industrial hygiene standards. Teal

  • Regulatory Oversight: Evaluate and respond to new federal, state, and local EHS regulations. Teal

  • Management Systems: Execute components of the EHSS Management System, including ISO 14001 & 45001. Teal

  • Performance Metrics: Establish and track goals, targets, and KPIs across EHS programs. Teal

  • Governance Leadership: Lead EHS-related governance teams (e.g., Emergency Response, Safety Committee). Teal

  • Wastewater Oversight: Manage operations and maintenance of the facility's wastewater treatment plant. Teal

  • Site Compliance: Guide site activities to ensure compliance with environmental and safety laws. Teal

  • Incident Investigation: Collaborate with leadership to investigate incidents and mitigate gaps. Teal

  • Policy Development: Support policy creation and implementation with management regarding EHS&S matters. Teal

  • Permitting & Waste Management: Advise on environmental permitting; manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste contracts. Teal

  • Team Supervision: Oversee EHS&S team members including engineers, nurses, and treatment operators. Teal

  • Agency Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for EPA, OSHA, and other regulatory inspections and reporting. Teal

  • EHS Assurance Reviews: Participate in EHS assessments at other Baxter sites. Teal

  • Risk Management: Ensure compliance plans protect against legal and operational risks. Teal

  • Training & Development: Lead EHS training programs and create written procedures. Teal

  • Wellness Initiatives: Partner with HR to advance employee wellness programs. Teal


Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Safety, or related field

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience

  • Knowledgeable in EPA, OSHA, and DOT regulations

  • Registered professional certification (e.g., CHMM, CSP, or CIH) Teal

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in Environmental or Safety Engineering Teal

Compensation & Benefits

  • Estimated Base Salary: $128,000 – $176,000 annually (based on location, experience, and market factors)
