Role Overview:
As Senior Manager – Containers, you will lead a high-performing team focused on driving technical excellence in container systems used across Vantive’s global product portfolio. You will manage change controls, ensure technical soundness, and strategically align resources to meet critical business timelines for product development and lifecycle management. This position combines innovation, regulatory adherence, and people leadership to advance the design and performance of polymeric and composite packaging systems used in medical devices.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Resource Management:
Build and lead a team of execution leads and technical experts
Coach, mentor, and retain top talent with clear success metrics
Strategically prioritize projects and balance workload across the team
Technical Oversight:
Lead complex container system development and change management
Provide technical direction and review complex design proposals
Solve multi-disciplinary technical challenges through innovation
Strategic Planning & Execution:
Define global and regional strategic project plans aligned with business goals
Develop and manage budgets, schedules, and milestone tracking
Drive cost-effective project delivery using both internal and external resources
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Interface with internal stakeholders and global teams to align on design, compliance, and market needs
Build strong relationships across units and industries to influence programs of significant magnitude
Compliance & Quality:
Ensure full adherence to regulatory requirements, including Quality System Regulations
Promote best practices in documentation, reporting, and testing
Qualifications:
Education:
Ph.D. with 15+ years or M.Sc./M.Tech with 18+ years in:
Polymer Science/Engineering
Material Science
Chemical Engineering
Metallurgy
Mechanical Engineering or related fields
Experience:
Minimum 12–15 years of relevant industry experience
Hands-on leadership in product development of polymer-based packaging systems
Proven track record in medical device materials, validation, testing, and design
Experience managing cross-functional global teams and complex technical programs
Skills:
Strong strategic thinking and leadership capability
Deep understanding of material behavior, especially polymer composites
Financial acumen and ability to manage budgets
Excellent interpersonal and executive communication skills
Strong project management and problem-solving expertise
