About the Role:

ICON is seeking an experienced Senior Lead Clinical Data Science Programmer to elevate clinical data management processes. This role focuses on designing innovative reports and scalable data validation methods to enhance data review and cleaning. It demands technical expertise, cross-functional collaboration, and a strong understanding of clinical trial data systems and infrastructure.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with global units (BDM, Safety, Precision Medicine, Digital Health, etc.) to understand data quality and validation needs.

  • Translate clinical data business needs into comprehensive, scalable business specifications and documentation.

  • Maintain consistency across data management processes and data quality plans throughout programs.

  • Document the full clinical product development lifecycle, including data sources, methodologies, and assumptions.

  • Define and implement study-specific Data Quality specifications and key clinical data metrics.

  • Generate study-level reports and dashboards within the Clinical Data Platform to support stakeholders.

  • Query, ingest, deliver, and model small to large clinical datasets while resolving inconsistencies.

  • Develop data-driven insights tailored to stakeholders such as Clinical Data Management and Pharmacometrics.

  • Lead Common Data Model (CDM) mapping and transformation efforts in line with governance strategies.

  • Work with diverse clinical datasets, including EDC and non-CRF data, ensuring analytical readiness.

  • Utilize Big Data frameworks and Lakehouse architectures for modern clinical data handling.

  • Manage ETL processes using tools such as SQL, Python, R, and cloud infrastructure like AWS (S3, Data Lake).

  • Exhibit excellent analytical, project management, and communication skills across functions.


Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field (required).

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in clinical data analysis, preferably in the BioPharma sector.

  • Deep understanding of clinical trial workflows, data integration, and informatics.

  • Strong hands-on expertise in programming, ETL, and large dataset management.

  • Not open to freshers; remote work is not offered for this position.
