Position: Global Mobility Specialist (APAC Region)

As a key point of contact within the APAC region, you will work closely with General Managers and become a subject matter expert in cross-border and expatriate tax requirements. This role is responsible for ensuring international global mobility compliance, designing and administering relevant policies, and supporting mobility managers across the region.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary contact for all regional immigration and mobility matters.
  • Provide support on common processes and region-specific actions across the team (e.g., EMEA, Americas).
  • Collaborate with managers on immigration matters and applications.
  • Understand and support international assignment and transfer processes for business units.
  • Manage immigration compliance for regional cases, tracking visa statuses, and working with external vendors.
  • Develop and manage the annual immigration budget for the APAC region, including cost setting and renewals.
  • Proactively contribute to the development, implementation, and maintenance of mobility policies and processes.
  • Offer recommendations to mobility colleagues on immigration issues.
  • Monitor and interpret legislative changes in the APAC region, communicate updates, and propose necessary policy adjustments.
  • Maintain online resources and communications for employees, Line Managers, and the HR Community.
  • Assist with global policy reviews using internal and external market data sources.
  • Participate in regular Global HR/BU calls to support global regions.
  • Conduct and attend training sessions on Global Mobility compliance topics with GM Managers.
  • Recommend policy and compliance solutions to the business.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of assignment expenses to payroll.
  • Prepare costings for assignments and assist with budget preparation, tracking assignment tax costs.
  • Manage third-party vendors, reviewing KPIs, SLAs, and monthly invoices.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements.
  • Understand relocation processes for regions outside APAC.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 1-2 years of international expat tax experience, ideally from a large accounting firm or in-house Global Mobility function. 7-10 years of overall HR experience required.
  • Skills: Strong communication and presentation skills, proficiency in MS Office.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with immigration processes and applications in the APAC region is preferred.

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

  • Hybrid role with one day per week in the Bangalore office.
  • Minimal travel (up to 5%), which may be domestic or international.
