The Senior Global Medical Director role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced and proactive medical professional to help shape the understanding of the value and impact of GSK's medicines and vaccines. This is achieved through the development and execution of the global medical scientific strategy, generating insights, shaping optimal care, and delivering impactful solutions to close existing gaps in patient care.

As the Senior Global Medical Director for Blenrep, you will be part of a dynamic team of medical leaders, committed to achieving GSK's mission of getting Ahead of Disease Together and making a positive impact on global health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Global Medical Affairs Strategy & Execution:
    Lead the development and timely execution of global Medical Affairs Plans (MAP) and Integrated Evidence Plans (IEP) in partnership with key stakeholders through the GMAT and IET.

  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Alignment:
    Understand the unique needs of Local Operating Companies (LOCs), driving alignment within GSK and with external partners to deliver medical plans that prioritize external impact, on time and within budget.

  • Clinical Trials & Research Oversight:
    Leverage insights and experiences to design and oversee GMA-sponsored clinical trials, and collaborate on externally sponsored research to optimize positive impacts for patients.

  • Scientific Engagement & Networking:
    Drive excellence in scientific engagement by establishing and maintaining a robust global network of external experts, including healthcare professionals, patients, payors, and regulators. Collaborate with LOC medical teams to advance clinical care and patient outcomes.

  • Medical Governance & Risk Management:
    Ensure strong medical governance oversight, managing product-related issues that could impact patient safety. Develop risk assessment and mitigation plans as needed.

  • Innovation & Strategic Leadership:
    Build expertise in the product and therapy area, driving strategic planning for innovation and ensuring that future solutions address patients' specific needs faster and more effectively.

Why You?

Basic Qualifications:

  • MD/MBBS/PharmD or PhD in a clinical/scientific discipline, particularly oncology.
  • Extensive experience in Medical Affairs, with strategic roles in LOCs and global teams, supporting pre-launch and peri-launch phases of assets.
  • Leadership experience at global or LOC levels.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, and interactions simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to work in collaborative team environments with a wide range of stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills in English (both verbal and written).
  • Clinical or scientific experience in hematology is a plus.
  • Understanding of internal and external regulations and codes of practice.
  • Demonstrated matrix leadership skills with experience in building networks, managing complexity, and addressing cultural diversity.
  • Experience in medical support for regulatory interactions and payor dossiers.
  • General understanding of statistics, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in developing global or local medical strategies, especially for asset launches.

Salary & Benefits:
The annual base salary for this role ranges from $283,900 to $384,100, based on factors such as work location, skills, experience, and market rates. Additional benefits include healthcare, retirement, paid holidays, vacation, caregiver/parental leave, and eligibility to participate in a share-based long-term incentive program.
