Position Summary

The Senior Director, HEOR Biostatistics will lead a variety of projects focused on biostatistics within health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) and health technology assessment (HTA). The role requires expertise in indirect comparisons (NMA, MAIC), propensity score matching (PSM), real-world evidence (RWE) analysis, Bayesian statistical methods, and other HTA statistical approaches. Additionally, the role includes team leadership, project management, and business development responsibilities.


Key Responsibilities

Leadership & People Management

  • Lead a team of HEOR biostatistics professionals.
  • Delegate and supervise activities of junior staff and contractors.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and performance evaluations.
  • Administer employee reviews and development plans.

Project Leadership

  • Define project strategy, scope, and execution for HEOR biostatistics projects.
  • Manage changes in project scope and address challenges proactively.
  • Ensure quality control and best practices in project execution.

Client & Business Development

  • Lead proposal development and client presentations.
  • Develop new business opportunities and maintain client relationships.
  • Lead client meetings and provide strategic insights without senior support.

Company Operations & Strategic Growth

  • Drive HEOR biostatistics thought leadership through publications and white papers.
  • Develop best practices, tools, and training programs for the team.
  • Contribute to company strategy, staffing, and operational growth.
  • Participate in hiring processes and management meetings.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • MSc or PhD in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Health Economics, or a related field.
  • 8–10 years of relevant experience in HEOR, biostatistics, or health research.
  • Expertise in statistical methods such as indirect comparisons (NMA, MAIC), PSM, RWE analyses, Bayesian methods, and HTA approaches.
  • Proven track record in evidence synthesis and HEOR statistical methodologies.
  • Experience with R (preferred), WinBUGS, OpenBUGS, or other statistical software.
  • Strong problem-solving, strategic thinking, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent client relationship management and business development experience.
  • Ability to lead project teams and manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Work Environment & Expectations

  • Travel: Occasional travel required for client meetings and internal events.
  • Work Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours/week, Monday to Friday), with flexibility for project deadlines.
