Summary:
As a Senior Data Scientist, you will play a critical role in supporting Patient Safety & Pharmacovigilance (PS&PV) by providing high-quality data science and analytics to support safety monitoring, regulatory compliance, and business decision-making. You will independently manage small to medium projects and lead the creation of tools and services that enable actionable insights across multiple domains.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop analytical tools and services for safety reports (PSUR, DSUR, PQR, APR), audits, and inspection readiness.

  • Apply PV learning analytics, budget forecasting, vendor support, and resource planning.

  • Perform signal detection, anomaly identification, and procedural error tracking.

  • Enable predictive analytics for patient-centric protocols and risk-based operations.

  • Lead business intelligence solutions for segmentation, forecasting, recommendation engines, optimization, and churn modeling.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and global stakeholders to solve strategic problems.

  • Translate business problems into analytical solutions using ML, statistical modeling, and visualization.

  • Mentor data science leads and support their career development.

  • Act as deputy to senior leadership in the Data Science/Analytics unit as needed.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards during audits and inspections.

  • Continuously monitor emerging trends in data science, AI, and new technologies to improve business efficiency.

  • Manage integration of structured and unstructured datasets from data lakes and warehouses.

  • Drive real-time data flow improvements and data quality collaborations with IT and development partners.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s/PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, IT, Pharma, Life Sciences, or similar.

  • 10–15 years in data science or analytics, including KPI/reporting experience and statistical modeling.

  • Preferred: 1–3 years in Pharma, CRO, or Life Sciences.

  • Expert in Python/R (mandatory), with working knowledge of SQL.

  • Proficiency in machine learning, NLP, deep learning, time series, or neural networks.

  • Domain expertise in Pharmacovigilance and Clinical Operations.

  • Experience with large-scale data architectures including data lakes, marts, and warehouses.

  • Ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences.

  • Strong project management and cross-functional leadership skills.

  • High attention to detail, customer orientation, and time management.
