Job Summary

Fortrea, a leading global contract research organization (CRO), is hiring a Senior Clinical Scientist (Pharmacologist) to support early-phase clinical trials. This fully remote US-based role involves scientific input into clinical protocols, regulatory strategies, biomarker planning, and medical data review. Work cross-functionally with global medical teams to drive protocol development, early clinical solutions, and medical oversight across therapeutic areas, particularly in pharmacology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide scientific support for early-phase clinical protocol design and execution

  • Participate in development of clinical trial documents including protocols, amendments, IBs, and informed consent forms

  • Act as medical liaison with study sites and sponsors for protocol-related queries

  • Support data review activities including adverse event trends and safety lab data

  • Review and track Serious Adverse Events (SAEs), protocol deviations, and safety signals

  • Attend Investigator Meetings, Kick-Off Meetings, and team meetings as clinical science lead

  • Collaborate on biomarker strategy and inclusion in POC studies

  • Assist with Medical Monitoring and safety plan drafting

  • Contribute to process improvement and document standardization initiatives

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory guidelines and scientific advancements


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • PhD with 4–6 years OR Master's with 10–12 years OR Bachelor’s with 10–15 years of relevant experience in clinical, pharmaceutical, research, or lab settings

  • Strong knowledge of GCP, clinical regulations, and pharmacology

  • Experience with protocol development, scientific document writing, and clinical data interpretation

  • Proven ability to collaborate across teams and communicate with investigators and sponsors

  • Skilled in medical data review (e.g., AEs, ECGs, labs) and safety monitoring

  • Fluent in English (written and verbal)

  • US work authorization (no sponsorship available)
